W Series

In times of national crisis, we often turn to sport to galvanise the public, bond communities and, well, take our minds off things. But professional sport was not immune to the fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic leaving a huge void in the public consciousness and the entertainment schedules.   

W Series, the all-female racing championship, was able - and quick - to adapt, launching its virtual Esport League in June 2020. Consisting of ten rounds and with the action starting on the legendary Italian circuit, Monza, the series was broadcast across the BBC’s digital platforms including BBC iPlayer, BBC Red Button and the BBC Sport website.
