The artist, director, creative director and VFX/CG supervisor joins GPS from Axis Studios

Gramercy Park Studios has announced the appointment of Cesar Eiji Nunes as head of CGI. The hire is another step in the revamp of GPS’ growing CG department as the facility further enhances its creative credentials.

Fresh out of university with a degree in graphic design, Cesar cut his teeth in his home nation of Brazil. A passion for his craft saw him move quickly through the ranks, soon working for some of the best companies in animation including MPC, Passion Pictures and Nexus. 

During his 15 + years in the industry, Cesar has worked on high profile projects for brands including Jack Daniels, Huawei, Compare the Market, Toyota, Anchor Cheese, Rockband and more. Notable projects include the multi-award-winning animated short, ‘Last Game’, for Nike Football and Wieden + Kennedy, and more recently ‘Phones are Good’ for Three.

Richard Ireland, managing director at Gramercy Park Studios comments: “We’re very much looking to ensure that the CG department expands on the great work we’ve been doing over the past six years. Cesar is a very talented CG artist who has a natural storytelling ability. His experience as a creative director and supervisor, paired with his passion for all aspects of the creative process, will be key to the department’s development. We’re in no doubt that he’ll provide an invaluable creative depth to our team and the company.”
